The real deal in real-time
Production planning gets harder as manufacturers grow and customers demand customization. Worcon launched Machine Desk — a cloud-based project and task management tool for CNC shop floors — and Kodius built it from scratch.
The future of manufacturing
Croatian startup Worcon builds digital solutions for manufacturing companies — primarily in the automotive, transportation, pharmaceutical and aviation industries.
In 2020 they launched Machine Desk: a software solution for project and task management on CNC shop floors that improves information flow across production processes, raises product quality, reduces costs and increases overall productivity.
Track and deliver
For the management of production processes, Machine Desk offers a suite of focused modules:
- Project and task management
- Warehouse management
- Machine park control
- Employee and client management
- Logistics
- Location management with a real-time reporting system
One of the key benefits: companies access information and monitor progress in real time, end to end.
The creation of a dream team
Worcon needed a cloud-based project management tool built from scratch. We were recommended by an external partner as experts in modern technologies, and were the most competitively priced.
The deciding factor: we had no problem with their plan for us to establish the architecture and continue development alongside their in-house team.
Architected and built from scratch
The entire solution was architected by us — frontend and backend. Once the architecture was in place, the client’s in-house developers joined the team and continued building alongside us.
From architecture to real-time release
Freedom to choose our own tools
The wonderful thing about a project built from scratch is the freedom to pick the technologies you want and lean on the best available tools, practices and conventions.
Providing knowledge to the in-house team
Educating the client’s in-house developers took time — and was worth it.
They worked in our office, attended team-building events with us and we treated them like our own.
In the top 10% of those who succeeded
More than 90% of digital products fail in their first year.
Smart architecture and well-written code that stand the test of time, combined with a user experience people actually want to use, are some of the most important factors that decide whether a product survives.
We’re glad we could help Worcon turn their idea into reality and reach that result.
The waiting list keeps growing
Since launch, Machine Desk has attracted the attention of a wide range of manufacturers, signed up over 30 clients, and continues to gain popularity.
I was surprised and amazed while working with them because they really caught on quickly, and it was agile. Everything went really well. We were amazed by what they did in the end.
